A Florida man called himself a “dumba**” to police after reportedly shooting his gun while intoxicated. Now, he’s facing a long list of charges after the incident.

This is the latest Florida Man story from Dave & Chuck The Freak and I’m sure it won’t be the last. This guy definitely fits the mold and might be a fierce competitor at next year’s Florida Man Games, if he chooses to participate. However, the other day was no game. It had neighbors fearing for their lives!

Why Did A Florida Man Call Himself A ‘Dumba**?’

According to CBS12, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a scary scene where bullets flew into a DeLand, Florida family’s home. This caused them to take cover in an attempt to avoid any stray bullets. One of the victims tells CBS12, “My girl and my son are in the bathroom laying down.” Eventually, the adults and children in the home were able to safely evacuate as police searched for the shooter.

The family was probably confused and didn’t know what was going on. Was this a drive-by shooting? Are they being targeted for something? No, it turns out it’s just a bored neighbor, it sounds like. CBS12 reports that the shooter turned out to be an intoxicated neighbor on nearby Virginia Avenue who was shooting at a tree in his backyard. Yeah, you can’t do that! You can go to a shooting range or somewhere like that if you want to do some target practice–not in your backyard in a residential area!

The neighbor has been identified as 38-year-old Alex Kudlack. When confronted by deputies, Kudlack reportedly told them, “Yeah, I’m a dumba**,” per CBS12. He was then arrested and booked into the Volusia County jail on several charges including 1 count of shooting into a dwelling, 1 count of using a firearm while under the influence, 2 counts of child endangerment, and 1 count of criminal mischief, according to CBS12.

You can see his mugshot and another photo from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office below. He could have seriously injured and even killed people in that family! There were kids around and it sounds like they came pretty close to getting hit by stray bullets. Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident.
