‘Casting Couch’ Miniature Exhibit Wins 3rd Place At Kentucky State Fair
A miniature exhibit of the infamous Casting Couch won 3rd place at the Kentucky State Fair! However, it’s since been pulled from display.
This is merely the latest example of someone having their Bronze medal removed. It turns out, Jordan Chiles is not alone. Now, this Casting Couch exhibit from the Kentucky State Fair is getting a lot of attention online. It looks like many people recognize the famous couch and take no shame in it.
Why Was Casting Couch Exhibit Removed From Kentucky State Fair?
The Casting Couch has been a staple in pornography for many years. Adult Film stars do a mock-interview for a porno audition on the famous black couch, before getting down to business. It’s been a meme for years as people will often recognize the couch and its setting, but nobody wants to admit it. So, it’s like an inside joke with the internet. Recently, it was brought to life at the Kentucky State Fair.
According to WDRB, Preston Poling, also known as The Bearded Miniaturist on social media, won third place for his entry in the miniatures exhibit. However, it was later removed from display because it was deemed “inappropriate.” Looks like someone might not have recognized the famous Casting Couch…at first. The entry was reportedly appropriately titled “The Casting Couch” and showed an office with a black couch, desk, computer, chair, and camera. Just like it’s seen online! Many people quickly put together that it was a pornography set.
Poling joked, telling WDRB, “I created it piece-by-piece to be an identical replica of the one that we’re all familiar with, or we don’t want to admit that we’re familiar with.” WDRB reports that Poling was told by fans online Tuesday night that the display was missing and he initially thought it was stolen because of all the attention it got online. So, he went to investigate. When he arrived at the fair on Wednesday, he was told that the board was considering stripping all his awards for this year and disqualifying them completely as an artist, per WDRB.
In a statement, Lexie Ratterman, the senior communications manager for Kentucky Venues, confirmed his entry was removed by officials saying, “Entries submitted to the fair are routinely reviewed throughout the event and the entry in question has been removed from display at this time,” via WDRB.
