How Fast Did A Man Assemble A Mr. Potato Head To Break The World Record?
How long do you think it would take you to assemble a Mr. Potato Head? Could you beat the world record?
A 20-year-old in Northern Ireland recently set the new Guinness World Record for the fastest time to assemble a Mr. Potato Head. It’s something I’ve never really thought about, but it’s an impressive accomplishment nonetheless!
How Fast Did A Man Assemble A Mr. Potato Head?
I remember Mr. Potato Head. I don’t think I ever owned one or really cared about owning one, but some friends had one and it was an interesting toy. However, have you ever thought about timing yourself to see how fast you could assemble a Mr. Potato Head?
According to Guinness World Records, Declan McFerran is now the best in the world at putting Mr. Potato Head together, or at least he’s the fastest. Guinness World Records reports he was able to assemble a Mr. Potato Head in 5.15 seconds, beating the previous record by 0.28 seconds! The previous record was set 2 years ago by a Malaysian named Lim Kai Yi. How on Earth would you be able to do that? Just over 5 seconds? I don’t think I’d be able to locate all of the pieces in 5.15 seconds let alone assemble the entire thing!
Clearly, Declan was determined to set this world record. Guinness World Records says he tried to break the record for four hours straight before he was finally successful. That’s some serious dedication! Declan told Guinness World Records, “I hadn’t seen or owned a Mr. Potato Head since a child, however, I was enticed by the record and gave it my best try, and to my pleasant surprise I managed to break the record!”
4 hours of just sitting there trying to assemble a Mr. Potato Head? No, thank you! There has to be an easier record somewhere out there to try to set instead. Watch him pull off the impressive feat in a video shared by @GWR on X (formerly Twitter) below!
