Now that it is officially official, the Tom Brady tributes are rolling in.

After 22 seasons, 7 Super Bowl wins here are just some of The GOAT’s stats:

  • three time NFL MVP
  • six time All Pro
  • five time Super Bowl MVP
  • NFL’s all time passing touchdown leader
  • NFL’s all time passing yard leader
  • Most career wins 243
  • fifteen Pro Bowls

On Tuesday, February 1st Tom Brady announced his retirement on his Instagram. He said, “I have always believed that the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition — if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game. There is a physical, mental and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximize my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life. This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”

The announcement comes after ESPN’s Adam Schefter

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 29, 2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">tweeted on Saturday (1/29) that Brady was going to retire after 22 seasons. Then later that day Brady’s agent released a statement saying: “I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future. Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well as anybody, so that should be soon.”

So now we all know. It has been quite a ride the last two years since Brady put on a Buccaneers uniform.
