One Tampa doughnut shop made Yelp’s Top 100 US Donut Shops in America list for 2022. But it might not be the one you’re thinking.

I’m pretty partial to the doughnuts at Datz / Dough in Tampa, but when I’ve asked listeners about their favorite, inevitably Fray’s Donut House is the one I hear the most. But neither made Yelp’s Top 100 in America list. Here are the top 9 Florida spots for a great doughnut according to the reviews site.

• #1: Mojo Donuts Pembroke Pines

  The best doughnuts in Florida according to Yelp and #4 nationally. They liked the banana cream Deco Delight. It’s got a Frosted Flakes and chocolate coating. Then they add caramel frosting, strawberries, blueberries and a chocolate drizzle.

• #2: Donnie’s Donuts in Ormond Beach

  Keeping it simple here. The “vintage donuts” are the way to go – a traditional cake doughnut rolled in sugar. Donnie’s comes in nationally at #12.

• #3: The Salty Donut in Miami

  Guava and cheese is a favorite here, but I’d go with the traditional glazed with brown butter and salt with white chocolate tres leches.  Their site says a Tampa location is coming soon.

• #4: Hole In One Donut in Tampa

  Tampa Bay finally makes the list!  Coming in at #34 in the country, Hole in One Donut has a perfect 5 star reviews from almost 300 reviewers for their Florida Avenue location.  The Apple Fritters are a big favorite. BTW, this isn’t the last time you’ll see them on the list. Let’s keep going.

• #5: DG Doughnuts in Ocoee

  Small batch, hand rolled, hand cut and hand decorated doughnuts. Reviewers say go with the peanut butter pretzel or banana cream pie doughnuts.

• #6: Dan-D-Donuts & Deli in Panama City

  Inflation buster… their doughnuts start at 99 cents! Drop in on Fridays when they make devil’s food cake doughnuts.

• Hole In One Donut in Zephyrhills

  Congrats to Hole in One… they’re the only Florida doughnut shop to make the list twice!  The Blueberry Cake doughnut is highly recommended.
