The Tampa Bay Rays welcomed fans to the Trop for the first time since October 8, 2019 for their 2021 season home opener versus the New York Yankees. The team made their way to the Trop for their first home game, nine days after they opened their season in Miami. Going into their home opener they have won two games and have lost four.

Due to the pandemic, for their shortened season last year, they only had cardboard cutouts of fans placed in the stands and crowd noise piped into the Trop. The Tampa Bay Rays hope to repeat their success of last season and make it to the World Series.
