One local artist took to the r/Tampa Reddit thread yesterday to announce the free class. The original poster said, “Get back in touch with their inner child and releasing some over-critical internal dialogue in order to have fun and play with drawing again. I’ll be hosting a little informal “class” to meet you all, gauge where you’re at in your relationship with drawing, and then do some fun little exercises to loosen up an perfectionism and get friendly with your inner critic.”
They went on to explain that many people that loved drawing as a child, fell out of touch with it once money became involved. They continued, “This class is designed to make drawing fun and expressive again and will be focused more on that aspect than on skill improvement alone.”
What Are The Details About The Free Beginner Drawing Class For Adults?
The free adult beginner art class in Tampa is taking place tonight July 16 at the Independent Bar & Cafe. You will not need to bring any materials or supplies. The host is bringing pencils and paper for everyone.
The class is aimed more so at bringing adults back together with drawing and making it “expressive again”. They will not be as focused on skill improvement, although that will be included as well.
The class is hosted inside the Independent Bar & Cafe located at 6203 N Florida Ave in Tampa. They have soft pretzels, potato & cheese pierogi, salads, soups, beer and more.
