It was a pretty good crowd for a Saturday. Two legends were on one stage for “One Night Only.” Sort of. Billy Joel and Sting have decided to perform a few more shows together at stadiums around the country, but Tampa was the first to get this blockbuster lineup at Raymond James Stadium February 24, 2024. Billy Joel just released new music for the first time in decades. We saw Sting recently at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Sting’s setlist included “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Fields of Gold,” and closed with The Police classics “Roxanne” and “Every Breath You Take.” Billy Joel’s song list included “My Life,” “Movin’ Out,” “An Innocent Man,” “The Longest Time,” “Don’t Ask Me Why,” “Piano Man,” “Only The Good Die Young,” “Uptown Girl,” “It’s Still Rock and Roll To Me,” “Big Shot,” “You May Be Right,” and even a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up.”

The night featured special moments with Billy and Sting performing on stage together. Florida fans will have to forgive Billy though for one goof. During “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” during the lyric about Disneyland, a photo on the big screen was shown of Magic Kingdom. Sorry Billy, we Floridians don’t like being mixed up with Hollywood.

Billy and Sting had never co-headlined a show together. They have performed together a few times at fundraisers and Sting surprised fans at one of Billy Joel’s Madison Square Garden concerts. But this is the first time the two were on the same bill. Florida weather cooperated with concert time temperatures in the 60s and both icons performed hit after hit. Check out these shots Q105 photographer Lisa Claire captured from the show!
