What Stores Are Open Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and a lot of stores are closing. Here’s a handy list of stores that are open on Thanksgiving Day.

It’s the holiday where we sit down and spend time with our loved ones and celebrate what we’re most thankful for. Many stores around the country are following tradition by closing Thanksgiving day and allowing their employees to spend time with their families. You’ll want to make sure you have all the ingredients for your Thanksgiving meal because a lot of grocery stores in Tampa Bay, including Publix, will be closed Thanksgiving day. With the help from goodhousekeeping.com, we made a list of stores open and closed Thanksgiving day.

If you like to plan ahead on your holiday shopping, you’ll have to wait for Black Friday to start shopping deals. Big retail stores like Target and Walmart will be closed on Thanksgiving day as well. Here’s the list of places that we expect to be open and closed for Thanksgiving.

  • Stores Open On Thanksgiving Day

    • Bass Pro Shops: Stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Big Lots: Last year, select locations were open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. We recommend calling the store near you to ensure they’re open.
    • Cabela’s: Stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • CVS: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving, but customers are advised to check for specific hours.
    • Dollar General: Stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Even though its prices are already crazy low, the discount chain still offers Black Friday deals.
    • Family Dollar: The store opens at 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
    • The Fresh Market: Stores will operated from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Michaels: For any last-minute Thanksgiving kids crafts, Michaels opens at 6 p.m. to midnight.
    • Old Navy: Most of the clothing stores will open at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving and stay open through Black Friday.
    • Sears: Several stores will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
    • Total Wine: If you need some booze to get you through your family dinner. Total Wine stores may be open with limited hours. Call the store near you to make sure they’re open.
    • Walgreens: Stores are usually open on all holidays, but specific hours vary depending on the location. Most 24-hour stores should still remain open all day.
    • Whole Foods Market: All stores will be open with reduced hours, operating from 7 a.m to 4 p.m.
