Heroic Dog Saves Family From Attempted Kidnapping Of 2 Year-Old In St. Pete
In what had to be an extremely scary situation, a heroic dog saved a family from an attempted kidnapping of a 2 year-old in St. Pete.
Over the years I’ve had many dogs, often 2-3 at a time and while I’d like to think they’d be good guard dogs, thankfully we never had to find out. My dog Rocket thinks that not only our home is his, but also the lake we live on and the grass around it. He doesn’t like anyone getting too close to his mama and I’m grateful for that. Well, a very scary situation went down the other night in St. Pete and one heroic dog is to thank that it had a happy ending.
Heroic Dog Saves Family From Attempted Kidnapping Of 2 Year-Old In St. Pete
According to WFLA, just after noon on Saturday, 36 year-old Ron Lee Klein Jr. went through the gate into a family’s fenced-in backyard in St. Pete. He grabbed their 2 year-old by his arm, however when he tried to pick the child up, the family dog started barking. Well, it was that barking that tipped off someone near the child that something was going on. That person started running after Klein, who eventually let go of the child.
Police were called and while Klein did flee the scene, he was found and arrested on charges of attempted kidnapping and trespassing to an enclosed area of a dwelling.
I don’t have children myself, but I can’t even imagine how frightening that had to be for the parents. You think being in your backyard is safe until something like this happens, but thankfully there was someone out there with the little kid and they were able to spring to action before this man could’ve done any harm. And all thanks to their pup! Extra treats for him this week!
