Jonathan Majors of ‘Lovecraft Country’ Rumored To Be Co-Starring in Third ‘Ant-Man’ Movie
Jonathan Majors is having a good year, having starred in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods and the Jordan Peele-produced HBO series Lovecraft Country. And now, Deadline reports that he might be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Deadline reports that Majors will play the cosmic super-villain Kang The Conqueror in the third Ant-Man movie, opposite Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man) and Evangeline Lily (Hope Pym/the Wasp). Little is known about the next Ant-Man installment, including whether or not Lawrence Fishburne will return as Bill Foster, and if he does, will he become Goliath, the character that Foster becomes in the comic books.
Collider speculates that Kang in the third Ant-Man could lead to the introduction of the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Kang’s history is connected to the FF (it’s complicated) but Disney just acquired the Fantastic Four (as well as the X-Men) from Fox, and — presumably — will reboot those characters and introduce them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point.
