Being a rock star has its perks. Yeah, the money floods in like a tsunami, but that’s not all.  Trash a hotel room? Right on. Smash a guitar into a zillion pieces? Grab another and play the next set. There are too many to count, but who are the world's richest rock stars? Let’s dive in.

Crazy Stories of Rock Stars Trashing Hotel Rooms

When you’re riding the ranks of some of the top rockers known to man, of course, there’s going to be some wild times. Holes in the walls, TVs off balconies, and cars in the pools are just a few examples.

Back in 1967, one of the most famous trash jobs occurred. Keith Moon was celebrating his 21st birthday when he supposedly drove a Lincoln Continental into the pool. Moon gained a reputation as one of the greatest to trash hotels and in the 60's and '70s, he was actually banned from staying in Holiday Inns.

We can’t forget about the legendary Stones’ guitarist, Keith Richards. Known for inventing the infamous TV launching from the balcony, Richards was the reason room 1015 at the Continental Hyatt House in LA coined the name “The Riot House”. If you've got the cash, why not live the lifestyle?

Let’s not forget about one of the most legendary dumps of all time. The bassist for Green Day, Mike Dirnt, took things a step further than launching a TV off the balcony. The actress Juliette Binoche was staying in the room below them when he let a ripe one rip right off the balcony and onto Binoche’s terrace below. Props to him for the aim on that one.

These artists above might not have made the cut for the World's 5 Richest Rock Stars, but that doesn't mean the dough wasn't flowing. According to celebritynetworth.com, here are the 5 of The World's  Richest Rock Stars.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney claims the title of the richest rock star in the world with a worth of $1.2 Billion.  We wouldn't expect any wild destruction stories from a legend like McCartney, but he did get busted with a bit of Mary Jane back in the 80s.
