A decapitated woman's head has been reattached following a gym class accident. How can that happen?
According to The New York Post, 35-year-old Megan King was 16 when she fell leaping for a ball during a soccer game in gym class in which she injured her right ankle and spine and also tore the muscle off both her shoulder blades. Ouch. Her condition got worse and worse and her neck eventually became dislocated and she had to wear a brace placed into her skull to keep her from moving. During the removal of the brace, her skull detached from her spine causing a nearly deadly internal decapitation, per The New York Post. She has since had 37 surgeries but is on her way to recovery.

She's lucky to be alive today because usually that injury will result in death 90% of the time, per The New York Post. Her head can't move as a result from the injuries but she's alive and adapting. She tells The New York Post, "I'm literally a human statue. My spine doesn't move at all. But that doesn't mean I've stopped living." It's an incredibly rare thing that happened to her but she seems to be taking it in stride.
