Man on Man Rescue
We Don’t Want To Embrace Another Man During Our Rescue
People hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake is so common that we could have an entire show dedicated to the cases everyday. Usually, we see it with an older person. This time, it was someone younger who made the mistake. They had to be rescued after flying out of a parking garage.
According to WPLG, a woman was part of a rescue after she was hanging out of a Coral Gables parking garage Monday morning. First responders were able to rescue her after a tree located outside the garage stopped the car from crashing to the ground. She accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, which led to her almost flying out of the parking garage.
We were focused on something else entirely. Maybe it’s because we see these mistake crash stories everyday but the retrieval caught our attention. Andy mentions how he just never wants to be rescued by another man in the way this woman was. All the guys agree. It’s an embarrassing and vulnerable position to have to embrace a man while they rescue you.
Chuck imagines he’d put his arms around their neck, and interlock his fingers for a tight grip. Maybe even wrap his legs around the person, with closed ankles, for a more secure grip as well. And as Dave points out, you’d have to in order to do it safely. Jason wonders if you were dangling upside down, would they flip you, or would you have to be lowered in that head-to-toe position. Chuck reassures him that you’d be flipped for everyone comfort.
All in all, the woman in the main story is okay. We are aware that if we needed to be rescued, it wouldn’t matter how they did it. Safe and sound back on the ground is what we’d want. Obviously, staying out of situations that would lead to a rescue in the first place is our first step toward avoiding this all together.
