MLB Fanatics Jersey Controversy: Are Those See-Through Pants?
Well, it looks like the MLB is striking out on its updated clothing line from Fanatics. The new jerseys are causing quite the controversy online because are the pants see-through?
Fans noticed that the pants are pretty revealing. Now, they’re noticing it across the league! Someone is definitely feeling like George Costanza after this horrible decision.
MLB Fanatics Jersey Controversy: Are Those See-Through Pants?
The whole thing started with an innocent joke. Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh told a joke on the team’s X/Twitter account, and the internet didn’t pay much attention to the joke or the punchline. No, they were too busy looking at his pants. They were pretty revealing. Dare I say the pants were see-through? You can definitely see what’s under the pants. You could even see his tucked in jersey through his pants!
Check out the video below to see what started everything. Please, ignore the joke. Focus on the pants!

Then, fans noticed the same thing during superstar Shohei Ohtani’s photo day shoot. Again, the pants are see-through! Shouldn’t they have caught on to this much earlier in the process? How does it come out once they pants are public and out there? Someone messed up.
Check out the photo of Ohtani below. Same thing as before!

According to Sporting News, the new Fanatic pants are supposed to be lighter and more comfortable for the players. That may be true! However, I’m not sure how comfortable they are now that the entire world is looking at their see-through pants online. Don’t get me wrong, I love comfort. Love me a pair of comfortable pants. However, I also would prefer not to be the subject of discussion on the internet.
However, the see-through pants are not their only problem right now. People online have also called Fanatics out for the odd spacing in some of the jerseys and how it appears to be a less quality product.

According to Sporting News, the players aren’t loving the look nor the feel. The whole thing reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld where George changes the uniform of the New York Yankees. That didn’t go well either! Shouldn’t they have seen this coming? Did they not see the episode? Big mistake.
Yes, actually. Which is weird.
