From “Free The Nipple” to “Free The Peach” people want to enjoy the freedom to showoff their body however they choose. Now, a community is coming together after a change was suggested at an Australian beach. A Pro-Bikini Protest was organized after some people called for a bikini ban at a local Gold Coast beach.
Now, who wants to ban bikinis? Seems like an odd choice, but I’ve heard weirder. Let’s dive into the story down under.
Pro-Bikini Protest Organized After Beach Thong Ban
A local businessman called for a ban on G-String bikinis at a beach in Australia. Now, a community is gathering together to combat the suggestion.
Now, men and women are being urged to meet a Kurrawa Beach to support their “freedom of choice” when it comes to beachwear, according to Daily Mail.
The protest was organized by Barr Body and Swim founder Rebecca Pask who’s labeling the suggested bikini ban “unwarranted” and “unwelcome,” per Daily Mail.
Pask told Daily Mail Australia that the gathering is to, “celebrate the inclusivity, diversity and color of the Gold Coast beach culture and that is anchored to our freedom. We are a ‘suns out buns out culture'”
Well, she’s not wrong! When I think of Australia, I think of sunny beaches and surfing. I also think of the Hemsworth brothers. So handsome. However, that’s a story for a different time.
Now, they’re expecting a big turn out for the protest. I can’t blame them. Who wouldn’t want to go hang out on a beach all day surrounded by bikinis while supporting a good cause? I imagine they probably also have food. Shrimp on the Barbie, perhaps?
Thankfully, some important people seem to be on her side. The Gold Coast mayor said he wouldn’t be considering the ban, per Daily Mail. He says the person speaking out against it is a “brave man.” Yes, indeed, he is.
