St. Pete Police Searching For Toddler After His Mom Is Found Dead
ST PETERSBURG, FL - SEPTEMBER 09: A line of police patrol cars stand by in front of a Publix grocery store location as management closes the store and allows the last shoppers to finish their shopping as residents and visitors in Florida evacuate and prepare ahead of Hurricane Irma on September 09, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Florida authorities have launched a search for a 2-year-old boy after his mother was found dead in what’s being described as a “very violent homicide scene.”
The body of St. Petersburg resident Pashun Jeffery, 20, was discovered in her apartment Thursday night, police say. After realizing her son, Taylen Mosley, was missing, police issued an Amber Alert. “I can tell you it’s a very violent homicide scene in the apartment,” says St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway. “Our main concern is we need to find this 2-year-old. We need to know where he is.”
Police were planning to search the area with a drone on Friday, Holloway says. So far, investigators have no leads in the murder, he adds.
