His Gun Went Off While She Was Twerking
We’ve all been there and done that. You’re enjoying the up close and personal gyrations of a twerking hottie, when suddenly your gun goes off in your pants. That’s exactly what happened to an 18-year-old man and woman in Cocoa, Florida recently.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired at about 10:30 pm. When they arrived on the scene, they found a woman who had been shot. Investigators say they arrested and charged 18-year-old Maurqice Thomas with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after witnesses told them that the victim was twerking on the lap of Thomas went a gun that he had in his possession accidentally fired, injuring the woman. The bullet struck the woman in the back. Party goers told police that the situation unfolded during a house party in Cocoa.
Investigating officers say several juveniles and adults were at the party. Witnesses told police that the owner of the house supplied everyone with alcohol. Meanwhile, cell phone video that was taken at the party shows a juvenile handling a pistol in an inappropriate manner during the party, all while young children moved around the room, some as young as 4-years-old. At one point, the suspect can be seen in the video, wearing a black hoodie with a Glock firearms logo on it.
The victim, who was finally able to be interviewed after several surgeries, told police that she and another party goer were playing with the gun earlier in the night. The gun, which was in Thomas’ pocket as the victim twerked in front of him, went off during the dance. Thomas faces several charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, culpable negligence inflicting harm, improper use of a firearm and tampering in misdemeanor proceedings. The last charge comes from Thomas’s attempt to contact the victim and apologize via Instagram. The suspect is now being held in the Brevard County Jail. Source: ClickOrlando.com
