It’s that time of the week when I try to find the perfect beer. Over the last few weeks, we have graded beers of all types. It’s a fun little segment Zito’s Beer of the Week. So far, the count is at 3 Chug it! and 1 Pour it Out! and we have tried multiple types. Lagers, IPA’s, Blonde Ales. This year we are reaching back and going traditional with the Toasted Bock. So, sit back, grab a pack and let’s get into this week’s beer of choice.
Leinenkugel’s Toasted Bock is a name so hard to say that you know you have had enough when you can pronounce it right. Or if you can pronounce it right, you need more. Not sure we don’t make the rules up. Regardless this beer is said to be a refreshing take on a traditional. They mixed the ingredients of Germany and American to make what could be considered a perfect beer. That’s what the guy behind the counter described to me when I bought it. He wasn’t far off; I will give him that.
Sitting back, I twisted the top off, and on the first sip, I was surprised. It was smooth and refreshing. I felt like I was enjoying one of the traditional beers. This had a holiday vibe for a seasonal beer without having to blast me with Pumpkin or wintergreen. It was pretty filling, in fact, too. Kicking back the 6 pack, I felt my money was well spent. In the end, I was relaxed and ready to buy another box. All this being said, it gets the Chug It!
