Investigators with the Hernando County Sheriff’s office say a man led them on quite an adventure last Thursday night. It began when a man on a bicycle was stopped for questioning at about 10:45 pm. During the interaction, the man gave false information about his identity to the officer and then quickly pedaled away from the scene.
A Brooksville deputy said 33-year-old Michael BoDor supplied him with fake information initially as he was being questioned. When the officer got suspicious, the man quickly tried to escape on his bicycle. That’s when backup was called. The HCSO sent in an aviation unit and a K-9 to assist with the search. The aircraft eventually spotted the man, who had climbed into a tree in an attempt to hide. Thermal imaging was able to detect the suspect’s presence in the tree. While the pilot was unable to positively identify the large object, officers on the ground found and identified the suspect. BoDor was commanded to climb down fomr the tree and complied with orders.
The man was searched and arrested. In his possession, deputies found a glass pipe that had some residue of methamphetamine. BoDor remains in the Hernando County Detention Center for fleeing to elude law enforcement officials, giving false information to an officer, possession of drug paraphernailia and resisting an officer. The suspect is being held without bond. Source: MiamiHerald.com
