Hernando Woman Busted For Parking Badly
We’ve all seen them, haphazardly parked at a 45 degree angle, looking like they slid into the space sideways. Some people don’t put a lot of thought into parking. They give themselves one shot at getting it right. If they don’t nail it, they just slam it into park and get out anyway. Meanwhile, the rest of us sit in our cars, glaring intensely at the offender as they walk toward the store, oblivious to their crime.
Police in Hernando ran across a badly parked car in a Target parking lot recently, but the scene turned into far more as investigators found some incriminating evidence in the vehicle. Officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot after hours. Considering it was almost midnight, the car had no reason to be there. When police approached the vehicle, they found 50-year-old Danielle Marie Richards sleeping behind the wheel. Fearing for the woman’s safety, an officer knocked on the drivers window until she woke up. Once the woman opened the door, officers noted that she was very lethargic and had a hard time expressing clear thoughts. The woman told investigators that she was just taking a nap. That’s when the officer saw the syringe.
As the officer interviewed Richards, he noticed a syringe filled with a red liquid sitting in open view on the passenger seat. That’s when the woman was asked o exit the vehicle so a search could be carried out. Officers quickly found a second syringe behind the driver’s seat. A further search found a nylon bag under the hood, tucked behind the battery. That bag contained methamphetamine and fentanyl. Also found durng the search was a cylinder holding 23 various pills of various types. The woman was charged with possession of meth, fentanyl trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. She remains in jail. Source: WFLA.com
