It’s a sketchy time to be a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. We’ve kicked whoelsale ass recently, but Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen have been fighting, and that could suck for the rest of us. It’s not unusual for a couple to experience marital strife, but this particular relationship feels more important than most. We’ve all watched Tom and the Bucs experience the highest highs, but we’ve seemingly been blind to the drama those moments caused in the legendary quarterback’s home life. We laughed and pounded our fists in the air as we watched the trophy toss during the boat parade. We looked to Brady and the boys during the pandemic for a diversion, and it worked.
For the last couple of weeks, however, Tom Brady and his wife have been going through a very public spat. Gisele was off doing other things as Tom practiced and even played games. Reports that Gisele is unhappy with Tom have come more often and with greater detail. It certainly appears as if Gisele was genuinely pissed when Tom decided to come out of retirement. But it all comes down to this…will they get past it? Will life get back to normal? Can Gisele forgive and forget with so much on the line? Many people say it all comes down to this Sunday as the Green Bay Packers play our beloved Bucs at Raymond James Stadium.
You see, Gisele always shows up at Tom’s home games…when things are going well. But all of that has been thrown into question lately. Many are saying her presence would indicate a making of amends, or her absence could indicate a real problem. Either outcome could seriously affect Tom’s performance during the game. It’s like a season finale of a popular TV show. It’s a genuinely drama-filled moment of success or failure, and it has nothing to do with the game. There’s something about it that we can all relate to, and all the money in the world can’t change the outcome of that moment. I, for one, would love to see the couple find a way to the other side of it all. Let’s all hope that the man who has brought us so much excitement, joy and pride in our city can find a way to balance the love he has for his wife, family and his love for the game.
