A Florida man was accused of assaulting and robbing a woman while dressed like one of our favorite Avengers. Reports from Channel 8 tell us that 36 year old Lequan Payne allegedly struck a woman in the back of the head and stole her cash near the intersection of Federal Highway and Dixianna Street Monday evening.
It’s not like you can’t miss Spider-Man hanging out in your neighborhood. The victim was at the laundromat when she noticed Payne riding his bike in the costume and bright yellow shorts. She thought to herself this would be a good photo op and approached Spidey. After finishing errands at the laundromat she was unexpectedly struck in the back of the head. As she fell to the ground, $45 fell out of her pocket and Payne swiped the money.
According to Channel 10 News in Hollywood, Florida states that officer Ricky Presno arrested Payne shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of South Federal Highway and Madison Street. According to Presno’s report, Payne was in possession of $46 and the victim identified him as her attacker.
Payne was charged with robbery (no firearm or weapon) and resisting an officer without violence. He is currently being held on $6,000 bond.
