Police say a man posed as a Disney World cast member and stole a very expensive R2-D2 droid in an attempt to show Disney security that they should hire him. The official report says 41-year-old David Proudfoot of Kissimmee, Florida has been charged with grand theft and obstruction by false information. Investigators went to the Swan Reserve Hotel on Disney property and found Proudfoot, wearing an outfit that closely resembled an official Disney uniform and wearing a Disney name tag. Authortites say the man identified himself as David Rodgers and said he worked for Disney’s yacht Club. Security cameras reported seeing the man pushing a cart to a loading dock and became suspicious. That’s when police were called. When questioned about the incident, security says they got answers that didn’t add up. First, there were no records of a man named David Rodgersworking for the company. Second, the man told them his boss was James McDaniels. That man works in California, not Florida. Security escorted the man to an employee locker, where they sayhe seemed confused and was unable to open ‘his’ locker. When asked if he carried identification, the man said yes and offered them his wallet. The man’s license contained his real information. After further questioning, the man told security that he took an R2-D2 droid as a demonstration of how he could infiltrate security measures on the property. Proudfoot told officers he was not going to remove the droid from the proerty. Source: Fox13News.com
