AAA is making sure you stay safe this Fourth of July with their “Tow to Go” program. The auto club group is reactivating the special that provides safe transportation for impaired drivers and their vehicles. This will only be available for the holiday weekend, starting 6 p.m. Friday, July 1st to 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 5th.
Florida drivers that are too impaired to drive should call (855)286-9246 and AAA will dispatch a tow truck to transport the impaired driver and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10 mile radius. The service is free, yet AAA asks that it be treated as a backup plan.
AAA Tow to Go has removed more than 25,000 impaired drivers from the road. Mark Jenkins, AAA spokesman stated “The roads will already be extremely crowded this weekend, and adding alcohol just raises the risk of a deadly crash. As you lock-in your party plans, be sure to also setup a safe ride. If those plans fall through, call Tow to Go and AAA can give you a lift.”
This is available for free to AAA members and non-members. But don’t strictly rely on the towing company to take you and your friends around town, the service is only available for one person and their vehicle to be transported to a safe location within a 10 mile radius.
