PGA Tour Winner Bart Bryant Killed in Polk County Car Crash
Three-time PGA Tour champion Bart Bryant has died in a car accident in Florida, authorities have announced. Bryant was just 59 years old.
The accident occurred on Wednesday after a construction crew stopped traffic on SR 33 in Polk County, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Bryant and his wife — who were traveling in a white Volkswagon SUV — were among the drivers waiting on the road when a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup plowed into their vehicle at 60 miles per hour, sheriff’s officials say. Bryant was killed and his wife, Donna, suffered minor injuries, authorities say.
The driver of the F-150, 21-year-old Clermont resident Mark Farkas, was not injured in the crash. As of early Wednesday afternoon, no charges had been filed against him.
