What an offseason. Especially here in Tampa Bay. Well, the story continues, and it’s another big one!
Bruce Arians is apparently stepping down as the Bucs HC and will assume a front office position. Replacing Arians will be defensive coordinator Todd Bowles per NBC Sports Peter King. Bowles previously served as HC of the New York Jets from 2015-2018.
Bruce Arians’ decision to step down this week came as a surprise to many – but apparently it’s been in the works for a while.
According to Tampa Bay Times reporter Rick Stroud, Brady was told about Arians’ plan to retire – and the team’s plan to promote Todd Bowles – on either March 13th or 14th.
As it happens, March 13th is the same day that Brady announced he was un-retiring and would return to the Bucs – adding fuel to the rumors that Brady may have wanted Arians gone.
Do you think this has anything to do with the reported “beef” between BA and Tom Brady? Both men have denied those rumors – Arians says he and Brady had a “great relationship”, while Brady called Arians an “incredible man and coach”.
Story developing.
