Early this morning sometime around 1am, a driver on County Road 672 crashed after hitting an alligator that was in the middle of the road, according to ABC Action News. They say the driver was heading eastbound in Lithia when the gator was hit. The alligator was 11 feet long. The impact flipped the vehicle and sent it into a ditch near the Alafia River State Park. They say the driver died at the scene. The alligator didn’t survive the collision either. [Source: ABC Action News]
