Tampa Bay Charity Needs 3 Specific Thanksgiving Items Urgently

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, a Tampa charity is looking for help specifically for donations of stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. Metropolitan Ministries tweeted this morning that they need these specific three items for meals they’re preparing Thursday for at-risk and homeless families. If you can help, there are a few locations where you can drop these items off in time.

4 Tips to Help with Those Thanksgiving Hangovers

  Many experts say you should drink a glass of water between every alcohol drink you consume, but let’s face it, that practice rarely happens according to plan. You should try and drink a couple of glasses of water before you go to bed, and a couple aspirin wouldn’t hurt, either. If water and aspirin aren't cutting it, some might say to reach for one of those “sports drinks” to replenish electrolytes.  Those work alright, but from personal experience, this writer recommends Pedialyte. Pedialyte contains less sugar but more sodium and potassium. Seriously…don’t knock it until you try it.

• Eat Some Easy-To-Digest Starches

  Whether you prefer crackers, dry toast or maybe some leftover dinner rolls, some carbs will help bring your blood sugar levels back up to help with that hangover fatigue.

• Eat A Banana

  Just like those starches, bananas are easy on your stomach. Plus, they contain potassium, which is a key component in regulating your body’s fluid balance.
• Go Back To Bed

  If you’re fortunate to not have to work the day after Thanksgiving (or after any other night of heavy drinking), just lounge in bed or on the couch and sleep/rest it off.  The human body has the ability to heal itself when it’s at rest.  #Science
