NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - OCTOBER 31: Jameis Winston #2 of the New Orleans Saints is injured after being tackled by Devin White #45 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the second quarter at Caesars Superdome on October 31, 2021 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty Images)

It was a brutal takedown that shook the entire Saints season up. Devin White performed a horse caller takedown that caused Jameis Wintson to land awkwardly and tear his ACL and damage MCL in the left knee. Devin White says it was not intentional and that he and Jameis have talked about it.

The NFL however doesn’t care that there was no bad blood between the former teammates as they have made a decision on the tackle that stops the former Buccaneers Quarterback. White was fined $15,450 for two unnecessary-roughness infractions: a horse-collar tackle as well as a $10,300 for a taunting whistle in the fourth quarter.

The penalties gained from Devin Whites’ misconduct have been attributed to the Buc’s 36-27 loss to the Saints. Devin White has accepted responsibility for the takedown and the taunting.
