These love triangles are so hard to keep straight or just alive at this point, it seems. The former lover of a Florida woman convicted of trying to hire an assassin to kill her newlywed husband has died.

A story that made headlines back in 2009 when the arrest of the Florida woman made it into an episode of “Cops” Dalia Dippolito was convicted back in 2017. Mohamed Shihadeh was the man who was her secret lover and went to the cops to tell them that Dalia wanted her husband dead. ┬áPolice had an undercover officer pretending to be a hitman and meeting with Dalia Dippolito.

She was convicted in 2017 to soliciting first-degree murder and sentenced to 16 years in prison. An earlier conviction had been tossed on appeal, and her second trial ended in a hung jury.

Mohamed, however, was found dead in his Sebring, Florida, last week, according to a police report. His brother found him after family members had not reached him for two days. Police have not reported a cause of death, and the results of an autopsy are pending.
