In case you needed another reminder of Tom Brady’s greatness, he made history Thursday night as soon as he took the first snap.

He had already surpassed Brett Favre (298) when he started for the Bucs in Week 17 of last season to hold the all-time mark. Offensive lineman Bruce Matthews started 293 games (third all time) while Drew Brees started 286 (fourth) and Jerry Rice had 284 starts (fifth).

In their first game after winning a Super Bowl title, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rallied for a 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys Thursday night as the new NFL season got underway. The Bucs trailed 29-28 with 1:24 left after a Cowboys field goal.

Brady led a game-winning drive hitting key passes to Rob Gronkowski and one on the sideline to Chris Godwin. That set up the Bucs’ late heroics with Ryan Succop hitting a game-winning field goal with two seconds left for the victory.
