Say what you want about Trent Dilfer, but he is passionate about the game of football.

According to Bro Bible, the former starting QB for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Super Bowl XXXV champion for the Baltimore Ravens is under fire for publicly disciplining a player on the sideline of a high school game last Friday.

Dilfer, now the head coach of Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee is seen yelling and putting his hands on the team’s starting tight end Beau Dawson.  He is the son of 20-year NFL veteran Phil Dawson, who played with Dilfer on the Browns.

It isn’t known what the player said to Dilfer to set him off, but Lipscomb did end up winning the game by a score of 62-7.

Dilfer did issue a statement that you can read in a tweet by his school below.
