Tampa Area Home Prices Spike Is The 8th Highest In U.S. In 2021
It’s not your imagination. Zillow says the average home in the Tampa area is worth over $270,000. That’s up 16% from just a year ago, landing us in the top 10 in the country for home price jumps. Number 8 to be specific. The Tampa Bay Business Journal says their results include homes in Tampa, St. Pete and Clearwater. Believe it or not though, our home prices are still about $10,000 below the national average.
Where will prices go from here? Zillow thinks they’ll go even higher by about 13%! That would put an average Tampa area home in the $307,000 range by this time next year.
Not surprisingly, rental rates have also seen a jump… just not as much as home prices. Tampa area rents average out at about $1600 per month, up about 11% from last year. [Source: TBBJ]
