Kirk Hammett has been in the news as of late thanks to his guitars selling for big bucks at auction. Now, another Hammett guitar is going up for bid, and it’s one with a lot of history.

Set for auction via is Hammett’s custom ESP Ouija board guitar. Per the guitar’s listing, “This very guitar was Hammett’s number one instrument throughout the 1990s. He played and used this guitar on stage frequently. The guitar was used extensively for the albums: Load, Reload, Garage Inc., The Black Album and S&M. This can be considered one of the most important guitars in the history of metal music.”

The listing adds, “This guitar came directly from Kirk Hammett, with photographs of Hammett presenting the guitar to the current owner. Additional photographs of Hammett writing the history of the guitar on the back of the instrument are also included. The guitar comes with one of Kirk’s stage used guitar straps that he signed as well as the original touring guitar case.”

The minimum starting bid for this guitar begins at $225,000, with the auction site estimating the guitar to sell for between $300,000 and $350,000. Bidding will close on April 23 at 9 PM ET. Full details on the auction can be found at
