After a long past couple of days in regards to the leak at the gypsum stack at Piney Point, good news has been shared with Manatee County residents who have been affected.

Manatee County officials have lifted the evacuation order, this was shared during today’s (4/6) press conference. This means all residents can return to their homes and businesses in the previously affected area. This update comes after Manatee County officials share that the leak in the containment wall continue at the Piney Point facility, but seepage rates have decreased

Residents with questions about the evacuation zone can call Manatee County’s call center at 311.

As previously reported, U.S. 41 is also back open.
