BREAKING: Florida Governor Expands Vaccine Eligibility
Now that the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for emergency use by the FDA, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced who will be next in line.
It is not a huge surprise, because just last week DeSantis said that he plans to make it available to teachers and police officers over the age of 50. Today he signed an executive order to make it official to expand the eligibility. It will now include:
- School staffs (K-12) over 50 years old
- Police Officers over 50 years old
- Firefighters over 50 years old
We are unsure when this will go into affect…
The Governor also has signed an order that includes Floridians under 65 with “high-risk” medical conditions. That would require a physician’s approval. What qualifies as “high risk”? I have no idea…
