Nothing says Christmas time in Florida like a lighted boat parade. Sure Tampa’s might get the most attention, but if you’re in Pinellas, mark December 12 on the calendar. $1,800 in cash prizes will be up for grabs at the Pass-A-Grille Vina Del Mar 2020 Boat Parade. There are prizes for most creative, best sailboat, and best motorboat.
If you want to take part, there’s a Captain’s Meeting December 9th at 6:30 at Shadracks. Registration is $50 and due December 7. Your boat will need a working VHF radio and safety equipment for all passengers. Get more info at merrypier.com.
Want to watch? Find a good spot along the route! Boats will start at Merry Pier and head up along Vina Del Mar Boulevard and turn in toward the Don Cesar before making a loop back to Merry Pier.
