It might not be the Blue Angels but it sure is exciting to know flyovers are planned for Friday, May 15th to thank frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

MacDill Air Force Base has planned flyovers for the Tampa Bay area hospitals on Friday with their 6th Air Refueling Wing and 927th Air Refueling Wing.

According to 10 Tampa Bay’s tweet, KC-135 refuelers will take off from MacDill at 10:30 a.m. and head south to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and do a flyover in Sarasota. Then, the formation will head back north along Tampa Bay over the rest of the area before heading back to base.

They plan to fly over these 12 major Tampa Bay area hospitals:

  • Tampa General Hospital
  • Brandon Regional
  • Riverview Regional
  • South Bay Hospital
  • Sarasota Memorial
  • St. Anthony’s (St. Pete)
  • St. Petersburg General Hospital
  • Bay Pines VA
  • Largo Medical Center
  • Children’s Medical Center
  • Tampa General Hospital (North Tampa)
  • USF
