Well this is cool, and your 4:20 Hit of the Day!

An ultra-rare recording from Van Halen’s early days has been unearthed – a previously unheard alternate take of “Runnin’ With the Devil”.

The track, from the studio sessions for the band’s 1978 debut album, features an extended guitar solo from Eddie Van Halen and a different lead vocal – you can even hear David Lee Roth call for “a little more volume in the headphones, please” at the beginning.

It’s not clear how YouTuber ‘Groovefunkel Second Helping’ got their hands on the recording, but they released a similar alternate take of “Dance The Night Away” back in 2017.

Van Halen - Runnin' with the Devil (Groovefunkel Alternate Vocal Remix)

Van Halen Fans rejoice! As a huge Van Halen fan, it gives me great pleasure to share this remix which features an alternate "Diamond Dave" vocal AND an extended guitar solo. Made from the original 24-track session masters.
