Tampa’s First New Year’s Eve “Booty Drop”

New York City has the ball drop, but Tampa started a new tradition at Curtis Hixon Park on New Year’s Eve… the Booty Drop. Sounds like something you’d see in Ybor on any given Friday night, but it was Tampa’s new way to usher in the new year. Check out this video. The Sykes Building (“The Beer Can”) was turned into a giant movie screen for a video countdown to 2020.

For those braved the cold temperatures and were willing to “hold it” for 12 hours, here’s what it looked like in Times Square.
