PGA Tour’s Tommy Gainey Arrested on Prostitution Charges in Polk County
Authorities in Polk County have arrested more than 100 people in an undercover sting targeting prostitution, human trafficking and child predators.
The operation nabbed PGA touring pro, Tommy Gainey. Known as “Two Gloves”, Gainey attended Central Carolina Technical College and has played on the PGA Tour since 2008. Gainey won his first PGA Tour event at the McGladrey Classic. He came from seven strokes back of final round leaders Jim Furyk and Davis Love III to win by one after shooting a final round of 60.
He told the sheriff’s office he was in town for a charity golf event. Sheriff Judd said, “He missed his tee time the next morning.”
