A Michigan man lost his thumb in a woodworking accident.  He was never able to find the severed thumb to have it reattached, but doctors were able to find a replacement…his toe!

The man had to live without a thumb for 4 months, then doctors detached one of his toes and attached it to his hand to replace his thumb.  You can see the pictures below!

A Michigan man who lost a thumb in a woodworking accident found a replacement for the missing digit: his toe. In April, Aiden Aikens was making a gift for his then-girlfriend when he noticed what he thought was a piece of wood fly across the room.
