According to WTSP, A man in a stolen Jeep crashed and tried to hide in a local barn yesterday.
It all began when Tommy Redding was spotted driving erratically in a stolen Jeep in Hardee County. When deputies attempted to stop the man, he attempted to elude, crashed the vehicle and ran from the scene.
A concerned citizen reported to deputies that someone was hiding in her barn. When law enforcement arrived and demanded that the man come out of the building, he kicked the door open and emerged, naked and covered in blood.
But wait…there’s more!
Redding was able to escape the grasp of deputies and ran to a waiting cruiser, which he was able to drive onto the roadway. He crashed the car into two other police cars, deploying their air bags.
Deputies were then able to extricate Reddng from the car and tasered him several times until he submitted.
The man became unresponsive while in custody. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An officer was also treated for injuries.
