David Bowie: Now Immortalized as a Ziggy Stardust Barbie
3rd July 1973: David Bowie performs his final concert as Ziggy Stardust at the Hammersmith Odeon, London. The concert later became known as the Retirement Gig.
Barbie really can do anything, from being an astronaut to an anchorperson to even a cupcake chef. And now, she might be the greatest David Bowie cosplayer.
Mattel has announced today (July 11) its newest collectible Barbie – David Bowie Doll, which comes dressed in full Ziggy Stardust regalia, including his iconic makeup. Per Billboard, the Bowie Barbie is an official partnership with the David Bowie Archive to mark the 50th anniversary of the U.K. release of the single “Space Oddity.”
The doll retails at $50 and is currently available at Barbie.Mattel.com where you can view additional photos.
